In 2017, Aparna Avasarala hand-painted a denim jacket and started wearing it around New York City. Right away, people started asking for their own jackets—and Denimrush was born. (Denim + Brush = Denimrush)
Before the pandemic Denimrush was an in-person experience only brand. We specialized in on-site customization. During the pandemic we had the chance to turn into an e-commerce store, partnering with multiple brands to create merchandise and realized just the issue at hand…
Welcome to the Denimrush Experience, an elevated combination of everything we have done so far. We’ve evolved in what we do, but we kept our cool name.

Aparna Avasarala’s creative journey started long before Denimrush. As a child, she moved four times between Delhi, India and Cincinnati, Ohio. In India, her family would visit temples and fabric mills, which is where Aparna developed her love of design. The downtown street art scene of Cincinnati added an urban flare to her aesthetic.
She attended the New York School of Interior Design to study interior design and architecture, and began working in hospitality design, tying together her loves of travel and design—and developing an appreciation for designing experiences and how products and experiential immersion could weave together.
She transitioned into experiential retail design, coordinating such large-scale tradeshows as Liberty, Cabana, and Coterie. She was instrumental to The “Future of Retail” pop-up at Summit LA in 2017, and in 2019, was a founding partner and head of creative at Arcadia Earth—a large-scale, multi-sensory installation powered by Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, projection mapping, and interactive environments.
Her work on Arcadia Earth has been featured in the New York Times, Vogue, and Forbes.
Denimrush is her brainchild and her passion.
